Douglas Eadline, at HPCComunnity.org published a very interesting list of open applications that consume cycles on HPC machines. The accompanying write-up and list is interesting in itself if you are involved in HPC, but of more interest to us are the applications on the list that have had work to take advantage of heterogeneous acceleration (I know that VMD/NAMD, GROMACS and MM5 have – I’ll see if others on the list have).
